Aims: Worcester Volunteer Centre aims to promote and support the voluntary and community sector in Worcester and to undertake voluntary activity in social services and similar charitable areas.

Activities: Acting as a focal point for organisations and individuals using volunteers, we

· advise, recruit and support individuals willing to undertake voluntary work whilst also working with agencies who use volunteers.

· Provide advice, information on volunteering/the voluntary sector

· act as a link/liaison with other voluntary/community organisations as well as with the statutory sector

· help develop local initiatives

· provide a range of community services using volunteers, including Worcester Wheels (community transport - see separate entry under Worcester Wheels ), South Worcestershire Millennium Volunteers, South Worcestershire Youth Volunteer Action (YVOL); Special Needs Project for volunteers requiring extra support; and Minor Tasks Project providing gardening, painting, befriending, wheelchair pushing and shopping.
