Aims:  To recruit, advise and guide persons willing to undertake voluntary work.  To act as a recruiting agency for voluntary and statutory organisations.  To be a focal point for organisations using volunteers.  To develop and support projects in the community.

 

Activities:  Range of services for local people

·        For people wishing to volunteer – help, support and guidance, over 200   registered volunteers;

·        Development of Services – some now independent.  Runs a Community Car Scheme,  three lunch clubs for the elderly, share and learn group for the blind and partially sighted, individual services (practical help etc.);

·        Help for Local groups – community forum, publicity, volunteers;

·        General Public – information on transport, speakers, rooms for hire etc.;

  •       Befrienders Scheme;

  •       Specially adapted vehicle for wheel chairs which can be hired by members of the general public.
